Now that we are “in Christ” we need to understand why we often still feel drawn to sin (this is our flesh). We are now dead to sin, (Romans 6:11; 8:9), but sin still exists in our flesh (Romans 7).

A look at how the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life effects us. And a brief overview of 3 predominate worldviews.

Faith and Reason. “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. There are times in our life where we fall into sinful behavior. What changes in how God relates to us when we sin? The answer may surprise you…..

Drawing the Circle. “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24
Our identity is how we see ourselves. Our behavior is birthed out of our identity. Many people spend time trying to change their behaviors, without ever changing the way they see themselves (their identity). “In Christ” we are not a better version of ourselves, but an entirely new person!

Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” John 5:1-14
